Sensitive Stomach- 2 year old lab

by Marcie Fisher
(Picture Rocks, PA)

First - this site is AWESOME! I found it when researching foods for my rescued, malnourished and significantly underweight lab. (see her "Amazing Scooby" video on this site!)

Loooong story short - chicken/rice mix at foster care; then Nutro when healthier; came to us, throwing up and diarrhea. Off Nutro, onto California Natural in April. Did really well for 4 months.

By July, polyuric/polydyspic. Blood tests showed kidney failure. Came here to this site. Got her OFF California Natural and on Breeder's Choice Avo Derm.

3 weeks later, she's back to throwing up and diarrhea.

Can I change her again??? I'm thinking Blue, but also considering Wellness.

This will be her fourth dog food since February. Any suggestions??

Thank you so much for all you do!

Marcie and Scooby

Not sure of my puppies issue
by: Melinda

My puppy was on Blue Puppy. Twice he has had a problem with air pockets in his intestines. He starts throwing up and I think it is a blockage, puppy, throwing up, chew..... you know the routine. He could not even tolerate rice and boiled chicken, after 36 hours, I couldn't take it anymore.

Well, the two visits were well over $1000, and nothing coming out the other end indicating a blockage, I think, maybe, just maybe it is the food.

I have changed him to Wellness, we will see how it goes, he seems to be absorbing it much better. I don't have to pick up as much as I feed him.

So, in a round about way, I think you should try foods until you find one that your dog tolerates.

I would like to say, I had a dog with lymphoma, the only thing he could tolerate was a venison based food, perhaps that is what your dog requires. Blue makes a "wild" based dog food.

I know how heart wrenching it is to see your animal sick and not know how to fix it. Good luck.
