Canidae dog food
by: Paul

I have a four year old Chocolate Lab that I rescued from an abusive home at 6 months.

Upon the advice of my friend, who owns the local pet food store, I have fed Brutus Canidae All Life Stages dry dog food. It says right on the bag "PAWS" or puppies, adults, working dogs, and seniors, so can be fed from the moment they're weaned.

The food isn't cheap, about $60/bag (I'm in Canada); however, it lasts six weeks because you don't have to feed as much. It consists of meat, not grain, so 3-4 cups/day is plenty even though Brutus weighs 90 lb.

During the four years that we've shared, he has been very healthy. Stools are solid, his coat is shiny and his energy excellent. We try to swim everyday (we live on Lake Erie), chase the seagulls, explore the sand, etc. and he goes and goes.

Ask your local pet store for a sample at no cost. They should be happy to provide it and try it with your dog for a few days.

Hope all goes well.

Don't use Innova
by: Don

I have a 4 month old yellow lab and was feeding her Innova. It gave her the worst diarrhea and eventually led to an intestinal infection. After being on antibiotics for a week and switching her food to Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance Original Ultra Ultra Premium Dry Food she is good to go. They claim the food is complete and balanced for all breeds and life stages from puppies to adults. She loves the food. The vet told me to use this food or Wellness.
