St. Louis Senior Dog Project

by Christen Wiegers
(St. Louis, MO, USA)

St. Louis Senior Dog Project is a licensed animal rescue group focused on finding homes for older animals that may be overlooked by other rescues, or turned away by other shelters.

We are a 501c3 nonprofit public charity. We are an all volunteer organization and pay no salaries. Our efforts are funded primarily by donations.

We get our animals from shelters all over the state of Missouri, and in some cases even network with other rescue groups all over the country. Our dogs also come from puppy mill busts, cruelty seizures, owner surrenders, and breeder surrenders.

We started our organization in 2002 and became licensed in 2003. We have since rescued over 3000 dogs. Our average number of adoptions per year is 500.

Please consider our group for a future donation. Older animals deserve to find retirement homes and not be euthanized in shelters because of their age. Our dedicated volunteers put their hearts and souls into saving these animals, please help us continue our efforts.

Visit our website for a list of adoptable dogs www.olderbetter.petfinder.com.

Thank you for your support.

Great Group
by: Kim

This group tirelessly works to help out the often overlooked older dogs. If it weren't for them, I would never have been brought together with the best dog in the world - a now 12 year old cockapoo named Jingle.

Sr. Dog ROCKS!
by: Anonymous

I adopted a dog named Shelby from Ellen in 2003, she was my first foster. Abused, old, and completely deaf, no one else would have given her a chance. Ellen did and I had 5 wonderful years with Shelby before she passed away in December, 2008. She was the sweetest dog, I miss her more everyday.

Senior Dog Project is the best rescue in St. Louis! You go girls (and Curtis)!

This group does wonders for all dogs, but especially the older guys. They seem to renew hope for some of these forgotten creatures! Keep up the outstanding work!

St. Louis Senior Dog Project
by: Elizabeth

What a wonderful rescue group! Senior Dog saves many older dogs from shelters and mills that would most likely have no other chance of having a forever home. These dogs can be difficult to place, but the foster parents of Senior Dog have patience and willingness to wait a little longer for that perfect home. St Louis Senior Dog Project does whats right for the senior dogs everyday. Please consider this rescue!!
